Inshore Weather forecasts from Malin Head, Republic of Ireland from 1st April 2010 The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency has been working with their colleagues in the Irish Coastguard over the winter months in trialling the broadcast of weather information from the Irish Navtex site at Malin Head. 1 Ton Mine Located Off Portland
Earlier this afternoon a survey vessel reported to Portland Coastguard what appeared to be a Second World War 1-ton parachute mine lying on the seabed in the middle of Portland Harbour. The mine had been located by sonar equipment during a routine shoreline survey and lifted from the water but carefully replaced once it was realised what the item was. read more..
