1 Ton Mine Located Off Portland
Earlier this afternoon a survey vessel reported to Portland Coastguard what appeared to be a Second World War 1-ton parachute mine lying on the seabed in the middle of Portland Harbour. The mine had been located by sonar equipment during a routine shoreline survey and lifted from the water but carefully replaced once it was realised what the item was. read more..

Humber Coastguard Respond to Chemical Release Incident
At 0056 this morning Humber Coastguard took a 999 call from a company called Crystal Global, informing of an uncontrolled release of a toxic chemical called Titanium Tetrachrloride (TiCL4). The release formed a toxic cloud, which drifted across the River Humber. The company based at Stallingborough on the south bank of the River Humber, is a top tier COMAH (Control of Major Accidents & Hazards) site. read more..

At 12:19 today Milford Haven Coastguard intercepted a call on VHF radio from the Brixham registered fishing vessel Lerina BM 166 calling the fisheries protection vessel Aegis requesting medical assistance to an injured crewmember aboard.
