Port State Control standards remain high for Category One registries

3725 Conference

The Red Ensign Group’s Category One registers continue to hold their own across the world in terms of the highest standards compliance with Port State Control requirements.

Graeme Carnegie, of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, said it means that four of the member registries – Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man and the UK Ship Register – will continue to enjoy strong status in the Paris and Tokyo MoU White Lists.

They, along with the British Virgin Islands, will also feature in the US Coast Guard Qualship 21 scheme, he told the REG Conference which opened earlier today (2 April).
