More countries soon able to register with Virgin Islands Shipping Registry

Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR) will shortly expand the list of countries that are eligible to register their vessels in the British Virgin Islands.

It means the nationals and companies from more countries including  USA, Japan, Panama, etc will be able to join the Registry.

The announcement was made while representatives from the VISR were at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

Raman Bala, Director of Shipping at VISR, said: ‘This is a very exciting development for us and signs that our Registry will begin to grow. There’s been tremendous interest from American owners after learning both they as individuals and their companies are now eligible to register with us.’
